VT Pacers to host a Shoot-a-thon on April 25th in support of teammate, Avery Rogers.

Avery is facing some difficult medical issues with his heart. He has been diagnosed with Super Ventricular Tachycardia and is going to Boston Children’s Hospital on April 27th for his pre-op followed by heart surgery on the 29th. The surgery itself is a Nerve Ablation of the Carotid Artery.

The good news is that there is a 75% success rate, defined as back to normal activities after this procedure and we are looking forward to having Avery back on the court with his team doing what he loves.

The financial burden on the Rogers family is significant and we are determined to help them defray some of the costs associated with the surgery. While they have insurance, the deductible is $11,500.00, then a co-pay of 20% to a limit. Also, no insurance pays for their travel, time off from work, or their stay in Boston while Avery is in recovery. As many of you know, this family has had significant medical and financial stress in recent years and we are asking you to help them with that burden so they can focus their attention to what matters … Avery.

On April 25th, every Vermont Pacer teammate will shoot 100 free throws.  We are looking for donors for each MADE free throw or a ONE-TIME DONATION.
