About

I’m reaching out on behalf of an incredible youth organization, New Heights. I currently sit on the organization’s Emerging Leaders Council, and on June 6th, I’ll be participating in the 13th Annual Team Challenge Shoot-a-thon. New Heights is important to me because Kids need Sports!

A little background info: New Heights combines basketball programming with long-term educational and social support to help underserved student-athletes thrive on and off the court. They have guided hundreds of kids to and through high school, college and careers, and have a track record of success that’s hard to beat (100% graduation and 98% college matriculation rates). Each year all the kids and teams join forces to raise money for the program, and folks like me get involved as “General Managers” to support the efforts.

Now here's where you can help. I'm seeking to raise $1,500 to benefit my team. You can support me by making a one–time donation OR you can pledge an amount contingent on my success attempting 100 free throws (so if you pledge $1 a shot and I make 50 out of the 100 attempts, you would donate $50 etc.) All funds raised will directly support New Heights' academic and athletic programming. If you're ready to join me https://www.givingzone.com/project/S3k4nZd5NH/gm-maggie-barnettgirls-17u. Support a New Heights student-athlete today!

New Heights is excited to host our 13th Annual Team Challenge Shoot-a-thon on Saturday, June 6.

Team Challenge is one of the most important ways our community rallies behind New Heights student-athletes each year. Every student-athlete, coach, and GM will step to the free throw line and shoot 100 free throws in support of their team and the programs that help them grow on the court, in the classroom, and in life.

You can support a New Heights student-athlete, coach, or GM by making a pledge for every MADE free throw they make or by making a one-time gift. Pledges can range from 25 cents to $10 per made basket, and every contribution helps.

All proceeds support New Heights year-round youth-development programs, including College Bound, The Bridge, and our basketball season. Your support helps keep these programs accessible for families while providing student-athletes with academic support, mentoring, college and career guidance, basketball development, and a strong community of care.

Thank you for helping us rally behind our student-athletes and fund another incredible season.

If you would like to donate via check, ACH or through a Donor Advised Fund (DAF), please reach out to Kyle DeMerlis at kdemerlis@newheightsnyc.org or (267) 642-0531. Thanks for your generous support.
