RJS Avengers will host its Second Annual team wide Free Throw Shoot-a-Thon Challenge the week of May 22nd.
During practice that week every athlete will shoot 100 free throws. We are looking for sponsors for every MADE free throw. You can PLEDGE anything from .25 cents to 10 dollars per basket made or make a one-time DONATION.
Robert Jacobson Sports Foundation was founded in honor of Robert Jacobson who died in a fatal car accident. Robert was passionate about sports, making friends and helping his community.
The RJS Avengers and Lady Avengers AAU basketball teams were formed in 2015 to promote long lasting friendships, teamwork, sportsmanship, diversity and inclusion among players who live in New York City and Westchester County. By working together they can learn from each other.
Our 501(C)(3) organization does not turn anyone away who wants to join our program. Many of our players are on full scholarships and our coaches are their mentors who drive them from the City to our practice facilities in Ardsley, NY.
In June our teams will have earned a berth to play in the Zero Gravity Basketball Finals in the greater Boston area. We need to raise funds to offset costs of our trip, provide needed scholarships to players who need financial help and to help our organization continue to provide the best program to all of our players.
A chance to play in this type of tournament may be the impetus to show off their skills on the court, which can hopefully lead to opportunities that can kick start their future careers.
Thank you for your much needed support!
