Since 2010, Glasgow Wrestling Academy (GWA), based in Atlanta, GA, has been more than just a wrestling program; it’s been a foundation for young people across the metro area to build a lifetime of success. We don’t just train wrestlers; we empower youth with essential skills, such as discipline, teamwork, and resilience, that prepare them to overcome every challenge life presents. Season after season, our athletes show up, work hard, and grow stronger on and off the mat.
GWA’s impact extends far beyond wrestling. Many of our former wrestlers have become medical doctors, attorneys, engineers, small business owners, teachers, and military officers, each carrying the values they learned with them into their professional and personal lives. These success stories remind us that when we invest in youth, we’re investing in the future of our community.
This year, we’re launching an individual fundraising campaign to sustain GWA’s impact for the 2024-2025 season. Each wrestler and family member will send a personal link to friends, family, and supporters, and we hope you’ll consider giving, sharing, or both so we can keep making a difference.
Your support directly impacts GWA and our young athletes by:
• Covering Operational Costs: Funding helps us keep our doors open and supports our dedicated assistant coaches and staff, who invest deeply in our athletes’ growth.
• Providing Supplies and Equipment: Donations will equip our athletes with essential training tools, such as wrestling dummies and jump ropes, and help us purchase a new wrestling mat for practical, safe training.
• Securing Safe Transportation: We aim to buy a 12-15 passenger van to transport our wrestlers to tournaments and camps, giving them access to valuable experiences and competition.
• Expanding to a New Facility: As we grow, we strive to secure a new space to better serve our athletes and community.
• Offering Scholarships: We never want financial barriers to hold back talented young wrestlers. Your support helps cover monthly costs for families who may require financial assistance and offers college scholarships for our graduating athletes.
Although our annual operating costs exceed $100k, we’ve set an ambitious goal of raising $50,000 to help meet these needs this season. With your help, we can ensure GWA remains strong, sustainable, and ready to support our athletes in reaching their full potential.
